Haul!! Reviews

I decided to wait a bit before I did this haul as I really wanted to give these products a good go and see if they were great or awful and give you guys my own experiences with them.
(NB: uploading this blog with my phone so photos may be out of order but you'll get the idea)

1. Barry M Nail Paint in 296 Coral.

This polish has now become one of my favourite nail polishes. It has become one if my summer staples. It is a very opaque polish, one coat is enough. It dries in five minutes. It doesn't chip straightaway, it will take a couple of days. I have always felt Barry M did great nail polishes and this one didn't disappoint. It cost €2.95 in Superdrug

2. Barry M Nail Paint in 306 Blueberry Ice Cream.

Again this was another great Barry M polish. It is very opaque, again one coat is enough. This is a great polish to add a hint of summer to any outfit. Like the coral nail polish this has become one of favourite nail polishes. €2.95 in Superdrug.

3. Essence Colour and Go nail polish in 43 "Where is the party?".

This is a very unusual colour it can look either green or purple or both. I like this polish but it takes a good bit if time to dry and it chips fairly easily it would add a rock chick element to your outfit. It was €1.29 in Penneys.
(the picture will not do the colour justice)

4. GOSH X-Ceptional wear foundation in 1.1 Porcelain.

I find GOSH products to be very overpriced but this foundation was only €9.99 in Superdrug. It is a lightweight foundation with a light to semi medium coverage but it is buildable. This foundation matched my skin almost perfectly but is still a touch too dark. I really like this foundation but I find the claim that it is long lasting a pile of bull. You need to top up your foundation every couple of hours. I have very dry skin and I found this foundation didn't highlight that.

5. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm.

I love lip balm and this is my favourite lip balm ever. It was €4 in boots and thought at the time it was a bit expensive compared to my tin of Vaseline which I adored. However when I used this lip balm I felt moisturising my lips straight away. The peppermint smell is lovely. It contains all natural products, so no harsh chemicals. I love this product and I want to try more burts bees products.

6. Revlon Colourstay 12 hour eyeshadow in 01 Pure Pearl.

This was €1.50 in Dealz (Irish version of poundland) I use it as a highlighter and base shadow. It very pigmented there is not a lot of fallout. Its a great white shadow, I find with some white shadows you have to really layer it to get any colour and with this one you don't.

7. Essence Liquid Liner.

Leanne Woodfull of Thunder and Threads Blog raved about what a great liquid liner this was and she made me want to try it. As girl who loves the pinup make up with the winged liner I have tried so many liners, this liner is one of the best; once it's on it stays on, but it is easy to remove. The applicator is great too, slightly pointed to gain whatever thickness you want. I would recommend it to any girl who loves there liner. This was €2.50 in Penneys.

8. Maybelline Eye studio lasting drama gel liner.

I have used this gel liner before and I really liked it but I find when you apply you have to give it time to dry and that is really annoying. When I put on my liner I want to be able to run out the door and do whatever. When it does dry it will stay put for the day and a little goes a long way. The brush that comes with it is very good and I find myself reaching for it instead of my other brushes to apply the liner. This was around €9 in Superdrug. This liner is on par with the Bobbi Brown Gel Liner.

9. Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer in 1 fair.

This is the best concealer I have ever used. It's lightweight but gives brilliant coverage on blemishes. The packaging is simple, the writing/label rubs of so mine looks a bit grubby. The doe foot applicator is not hygienic so I apply the concealer with the doe foot on the back of my hand. This concealer rivals the mac concealers (for me personally). It was around €6 in Superdrug.

10. Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Liner in Black.

I was disappointed with this liner; it smudges very easily, I find when I apply this close to my bottom lash line is starts moving downwards and I have very dry skin so it didn't move due to oily skin. One pro of this kohl liner is its staying power, it will last all day even if it not in the same place you put it. It was around €7 in Superdrug.

11. Maybelline Master Precise liquid liner in Black.

I was disappointed with this liner as it is very watery it takes a couple of coats to build colour otherwise it looks grey. The felt tip part is not sturdy enough it's a bit to flimsy. Overall I wouldn't buy this liner again and I wouldn't this use as often as the other liners I bought. This was around €8 in Superdrug.

12. Avon Glimmerstick Eye Liner in Cosmic Brown.

I've never really used brown eyeliners as I always loved black but I wanted to try one. I bought this in the Avon sale for around €3. It gives a subtle hint of definition when applied on your waterline. Personally I started using it as a brow pencil and it works great for me as a brow pencil; using very light strokes I can fill in brows and they don't look drawn on. I know Avon do Glimmerstick brow pencils and I want I try them but this works great for me.

13. Avon Glimmerstick Lip Liner in pink bouquet.

This is a lip liner I fell in love with from the first moment I used it. When applied it gives you "your lips but better" kind of colour. It was €3 in the Avon sale. It feels a little drying on the lips so I apply my burts bees lip balm before and after I use it.

14. Avon Naturals Vanilla Shakes Body Lotion.

I love body lotions in general especially ones with a gorgeous scent. This body lotion has the most delicious smelling vanilla scent. The lotion itself is very moisturising. The scent lingers on the skin hours after application. It was €2 in the Avon sale. The packaging is very cute it reminds of the Yop drink. The catalogue even has a warning that it's not a real milkshake.

15. Avon Extra Lasting Lipstick in Eternal Flame.

This is a dupe for Mac's Russian Red. It has good staying power. It was €4 in the Avon sale. It's moisturising on the lips.

Review: Boots Cucumber Wipes

I have fallen in love with Boots' own brand cucumber wipes, they are great at removing makeup but gentle enough to use on sensitive skin. I found when I would other makeup wipes they left my skin irritated and very red, these wipes didn't. I have very sensitive skin and I had no reactions to these wipes. I an going through my third packet and they are a handbag must have. The scent is very refreshing but not overpowering. Give them a try I'm sure you will love as much as I do. I bought my first two packets in the 2 for 1 offer for €4 (not entirely sure if that's the right price) and when I bought my next two packets the 2 for 1 offer was still on so I bought two.

Katy Perry Cool Kitty Lashes Review

I got these lashes in new look for €7.99 and I'm so in love with them. They look natural but also can look dramatic at the same time. They have a thin band and the glue thats in the packet is very good. The stayed on all night when I went out to a pub and disco. I found when I wore them they really opened up my eyes. I would definitely recommend the Katy perry range as they are good quality. My cousin bought the thickest ones in the range and she really loved them, so I'd say try them you won't regret it.

Mane n Tail Update

Hey guys this is just a quick update on my progress using mane n tail. I have been using it for about three weeks and my hair is manageable, shiny and soft. I didn't notice anything significant with my hairs growth. To being with my hair was like straw and limp for bleaching, dying, and using heat on it , it's no longer dry or damaged and I'm really happy with the mane n tail shampoo and conditioner.

I'll have more blog posts soon,

Jen

Mane n Tail Deep Moisturising Shampoo and Conditioner

Hey guys I'm back after a whirlwind month of exams :). I have a haul post to do yet. Okay so today I bought the mane and tail deep moisturising shampoo and conditioner after hearing all the hype about it, that it can make your hair grow and make it really healthy. My hair is in bits after bleaching it so much, a lot of my hair broke off and it became really short. I remember a couple of years ago hearing Jennifer Aniston swore by mane n tail. After researching about the products I bought them from my local chemist for €8.95 each. Today I have just washed my hair with it and it feels very soft, shiny and clean. I will update regularly about my hair progress. It has an unusual smell which is neither bad or great.

Coloured Brows

This season coloured brows are a great way to make a statement. Not to sound ageist but it is a trend for the younger generation. By using eye pencils, eye shadows or even lip liners you can create a bold look. Here's my brow that I did. The blue brow was done with eye shadow and the red with lip liner (didn't show the rest of my face cause I look like shit :P)

Review: L'Oreal Infallible foundation

I have spent ages searching for a cheap good quality pale foundation and my search is now over! I got this foundation about three weeks ago and I immediately fell in love. I got the the shade porcelain and matches almost perfectly it's just a little teeny weeny bit darker than my skin tone (I was blessed with a ghostly Irish complexion). The consistency is great not too thick and not too watery, it applies great when you use your fingers or a foundation brush. It has a sheer to medium coverage and it does last quite a bit throughout the day. Really good investment for my fellow pale skinned people. Here's swatches it against the revlon age defying foundation in bare buff (left is infallible right age defying) before blending and after blending.

2true Makeup

I was in superdrug yesterday and I got 3 pieces of makeup from this brand called 2true, I was a bit wary about buying them as I had never heard of the brand but I bought them as 3 pieces of makeup was €5.99. I got the 2True colour drench lipgloss in no. 10 and its a dark blood red, it's a beautiful colour and is really well pigmented. I also got a lipstick from the brand in the shade no. 10 in the picture below the swatches are the lipstick with the gloss over it then the lipstick then the gloss. I bought a white kohl liner from the brand too, it's a great kohl liner and glides on smoothly. I would definitely encourage people to check out this brand!

Shopping :)

I was in Penneys the last day and I got this gorgeous cream skater dress for €17. I'm planning to wear this with my buckle boots, black tights, my black leather jacket and with dark blood red lips. Here's a pic of the dress and I will post and outfit pic on Friday.

REVIEW: Avon Nailwear Pro Nail varnish

I got this Avon Nailwear pro nail varnish the last day and I'm in love with it! The pastel mint colour is really beautiful and you only need one coat to get a great colour. This is the shade peppermint leaf and it's a great spring colour. I would give this nail varnish 8/10 as it chips quite quickly it was around €5. You can get AVON catalogue from you local representative.

Review: L'Oreal Luo Colour p01 and p02

I bought the Luo Colour recently to put in my hair because I had pink hair and I put a garnier box dye in it which was a blonde and it turned my hair into a blonde colour but there was some pink left . I put Schwarzkopf XXL live colour in my hair (shade: platinum) which turned my into yellow with some orange bits (ugh!!). I had to put a toner in my hair to counteract the yellow and orange pigments and so I bought Luo colour in p01 and p02 I used 160ml of 30 vol peroxide with the luo colour. It worked well took out all the unwanted pigments and left my hair an ash colour. I left the luo colour on for twenty minutes but i should've left it on for longer because I wanted a more silvery tone. Overall the product was good and I would give it 8/10 because it's a bit expensive for the tube at €12.99 and I have shoulder length hair so I need two.

Lipsticks review: Barry M and Beauty UK

Today I purchased the magic green lipstick from Barry M , and it says on the Barry M website how pale or rich the shade of pink is depends on the alkalinity of your lips. It came out a beautiful shade of pink for me. The packaging looks really expensive, not tacky or cheap. The formula is very moisturising. The wear is good too. I would give it 10/10, I really love this lipstick.

I also bought a Beauty UK lipstick too. I got a lovely coral shade (5, sunset) It had good pigmentation the packing is okay looks a little cheap the only fault is it made my lips a little dry. 8/10

Beauty tip #1: Eyebrow brush

This is great if you want to be frugal and save money by not buying an eyebrow brush. If you have an old mascara or a wasted mascara take the brush and wash it used hot water and a little soap to remove germs and the mascara. Here's a pic of my old falsies mascara brush

Sparkly heels

I got these sparkly heels for €22 last November in Sara to go with my prom dress. I love these shoes :)
